Chatham Daily News, 8 May 1971:
Mrs. Aaron Kerby, 94, the former Mary Ellen Bedford, formerly of 137 Patteson Avenue, died Thursday at the Victoria Home.
She was born in Chatham Township, daughter of the late John Bedford and Katherine Whalen and had lived in the Chatham area all her life. Her husband Aaron Kerby predeceased in 1960.
She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Inez) Hasalak, of Port Credit; a son, Lyle N. Kerby of Roseville, Michigan; five grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Two sons, Glen and Carmen predeceased.
Funeral services will be held at the Stephen Funeral Home, Wellington Street West, Monday at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. J. W. Hunter of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church officiating.
Burial will be in Blackburn Cemetery, Camden Township.

Kerby: Mrs. Mary Ellen (Bedford). 94 years, formerly of 137 Patteson Avenue, passed away at the Victoria Home on Thursday, May 6, 1971. Resting at the Stephen Funeral Home, 245 Wellington Street West where funeral services will be conducted in "The Chapel' on Monday, May 10 at 2 p.m. with Rev. J. W. Hunter of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church officiating. Interment will be in Blackburn Cemetery, Camden Township.
Her husband, Aaron Kerby, predeceased in 1960. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Inez) Hasalak, Port Credit, Ontario, and one son, Lyle N. Kerby of Roseville, Michigan. Five grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren also survive. Two sons, Glen and Carmen as well as four sisters and one brother predeceased. Stephen Funeral Home.
