Funeral services were held on Fri. at the Jenkins funeral home, Fort William, Ont., for Mrs. Nathan Stonehouse (nee Mae Scarlett) of 131 Balmoral St., Fort William. The late Mrs. Stonehouse passed away on Tues. Mar 23 after a brief illness. She was born in Florence 80 years ago, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Scarlett. In 1908 she married Nathan Stonehouse, a CPR engineer at Fort William and went there to live as a bride. Since her husband's death in Sept. 1943, she had resided with her daughter (Louise) Mrs. James Shanahan, Fort William. Besides her daughter she leaves four sons, Gordon, of Detroit, Mich; Ralph, Dresden; Edwin, of Nipiwin, Sask. and Bert, Atikokan, Ont.; 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren; two sisters (Buddy) Mrs. E. Boss, Fort William; (Stella) Mrs. William Clarke, Chatham, Ont. She was a valued member of the UCW of Wesley United Church. Rev. S. R. McLeod officiated. Interment was made in the family plot in Mountain View Cemetery, Fort William.
