Obituary, Bothwell Times, 14 December 1933, from Nadine Marcus, in the files of the Kent Branch of the OGS
The funeral of the late Mrs. Charles Bodkin, of Zone Twp was held from the residence on Tues. Dec. 5th, conducted by Rev. J. F. Rutherford, of the United Church, assisted by Rev. R. R. Latimer, of St. Matthew's Anglican Church. The floral tributes from her many friends were numerous and very beautiful. The remains were interred in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville, the pallbearers being Messrs. W. P. Forshee, John Buchanan, W. S. Bodkin, W. D. Huston, Duncan Buchanan and Frank Childs, friends of the family. Mrs. Chas. Bodkin passed away on Sat. Dec. 2nd, after a short illness of erysipelas, her death being a great shock to all. The deceased was a daughter of the late H. H. and Mrs. Mary Scarlett and lived all her life near Florence. She possessed a very amiable disposition, being a bright and lovable woman, and will be greatly missed in the home and vicinity. She leaves to mourn, her husband, two sons, Arlo and Fred, at home; three sisters, Mrs. W. Clark, Chatham, Mrs. Stonehouse and Mrs. Boss, Fort William; two brothers, Ainslee, of Wardsville, and Charlie, of Detroit.
