During the past few weeks, Reeve Kerby has been exceptionally busy. Mr. Kerby, who was born at Florence in Euphemia Township, of Scotch and Irish parentage, was married about 40 years ago, residing in Oil Springs until 12 years ago, when he came to Courtright. While in Oil Springs, he served on the School Board for six years. He was in the Courtright Council for three years, before succeeding the late Samuel Chowen as Reeve four years ago.
In spite of his great interest and activity in assisting to promote the construction of the St. Clair River Highway, he takes a great interest in gardening. He is ably assisted his wife, formerly Miss Jennie Marchant, of Oil Springs.
