Ridgetown Dominion, 30 October 1935:
Barclay - Zink: Thamesville, Oct. 28 - A pretty wedding took place in St. Paul's R. C. Church at 9 o'clock Saturday morning when Rev. Father McHugh united in marriage Dorothy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. Zink, of Howard Township, and Robert Barclay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawson Barclay, of Howard. Miss Ryan played Mendelsohn's Wedding March as the bridal party entered the church and took their places at the altar. The bride wore a brown velvet gown with brown hat and carried Johanna Hill roses. She was attended by her sister Ruth, wearing brown silk crepe and carrying a bouquet of Briarcrest roses. The groom was attended by Mr. Alex Mason. During the impressive ceremony, Miss Ryan sang "Ave Maria," and during the signing of the register "Hold Thou my Hand." As the party retired from the church the Lohengrin wedding music was played by Miss Ryan. The bridal party and guests repaired to the home of the bride's parents, where dinner was served by four girl friends of the bride, Misses Frances Schindler, Irma Bowden, Jean Barker, and Eilean Bowden. Mr. and Mrs. Barclay left for the east on a short trip and on their return will reside on the groom's farm at the outskirt of the village.
