My grandmothers's notes include a drawing of Yankeetown School District No. 1. It is comprised of a 2 mile square of 16 families in Madison Township, Richland County, Ohio. SW corner shows Elihu Cornwall but no date of entrance to area. Others are dated 1816-1818. Elihu's daughter Sarah is my GG Grandmother. Following is only information I have: "Elihu and wife Mary_____ came to Richland County in 1814 from Canada. They had seven daughters and three sons. Sons were Elihu, Elias and Francis. Daughters names known: Lucinda, Sarah, Jane, Elizabeth. Others not known." This info was from a descendent of Francis Cornwall.
Sarah Marie Cornwall born circa 1822 married Samuel Moulton 3 April 1844 in Richland County, Ohio. According to a second cousin of mine, Elihu died about 1840 or 44 and was buried in a cemetery near Lexington, Ohio with no marker...

I am researching the Elihu Cornwall family of Richland county. Elihu first purchased land about 1816. I know he had a daughter Lucinda and a son Elihu. I think he also had a son Elias. Lucinda was born in Canada.

I am looking for the descendants of Elihu and Mary Cornwall. They moved from Canada about 1816 when Elihu is shown to have purchased some land. My particular interest is in the daughter, Lucinda, who married David Tuthill (Tuttle)in 1830.

I am researching the David Tuthill and Elihu Cornwall of Richland co, OH. They purchased lots in the town of Woodberry. Where was this town located? Was there a name change? Are there any cemeteries in the area?
Reply from Brian Snavely, 27 May 2001:
Woodberry is actually spelled Woodbury, and was platted in 1820 as, and still is, North Woodbury. It is located just south of Johnsville (or Shauk)on SR 163. It once was in Richland county but is now in Morrow county, Perry township. There's a South Woodbury in the SW corner of Morrow county as well. There is a cemetery north of the village at the only church there.
