Obituary, Leamington Post, 24 January 1952:
Lived on Pelee 69 years, Popular Resident Dies - A well-known and popular resident of Pelee Island, Mrs. Fannie McCormick, died last Friday morning in the Leamington District Memorial Hospital. She was 77 years of age and had lived on the Island for 69 years.
     She was flown to the Hospital from Pelee Island early last week for treatment but died on Friday.
     Surviving her are two sons, Ellis, of Pelee Island, and Peregrine, also of the Island; two daughters, Ina, of Lansing, Michigan, and Nellie, of Pelee Island. Also surviving are several brothers and two grandchildren.
     A funeral service was held at Ferguson's Funeral Chapel, Saturday morning. The remains were flown to Pelee Island Sunday and service and burial took place Monday afternoon.
