Thamesville Herald, Thursday 8 October 1914
Pretty Wedding - A very pretty wedding took place on Wednesday, September 30th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Connor, Howard, when their eldest daughter, Annie was united in marriage to Mr. Elmo Pickard, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. William Pickard of this place. The bride looked very pretty in a dress of Alice blue, with trimmings of Irish lace and net. She entered the parlor on the arm of her father, carrying a beautiful bouquet of white asters and maiden hair fern. The contracting parties took their places under an arch of evergreens and asters, the ceremony being conducted by Rev. T. T. George of the Methodist church. The bridal couple were unattended.
After the ceremony guests to the number of about forty, sat down to a tasty wedding supper, the supper tables being very tastily decorated with asters and foliage.
Mr. and Mrs. Pickard were the receipents of many useful and pretty gifts. They will make their home in Thamesville, having taken the flat above The Herald office.
