Brisley - Brooks
A very pretty wedding was performed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Brooks, 17 Blue Street, on Tuesday, November seventeenth, when their second daughter Avis became the bride of Mr. W. Stanley Brisley of Cedar Springs, with Rev. A. H. Orton of St. Andrew's church officiating. The bridal party took their places under an attractive canopy of amilix and tiny roses banked by ferns.
The bride, who was given by her father in marriage, entered the drawing room to the strains of the wedding march played by Mrs. Rennard of Detroit, her sister, who also rendered appropriate selections during the signing of the register. The bride was modishly attired in white crepe romaine over satin, with silver trimmings, her flowing veil arranged cap effect, with orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet of butterfly roses and lilies of the valley. Miss Bertha Brooks in a charming frock of white georgette over pink, trimmed in pastel shades of ribbon, and who carried Columbia roses, attended her sister as bridesmaid. The groom was supported by his brother, Mr. Reginald Brisley of Windsor.
After the ceremony the guests repaired to the dining room, where a luncheon was served, after which the happy couple left on their honeymoon to Toronto and eastern points.
