William Reynolds writes:
James Ross Reynolds born 21 June 1907. On 28 September 1929, in Toronto, Ont., he married Sadie Moore Brodie who was born 24 June 1910 in Glasgow, Scotland. Jim was first employed in banking and then he became an assessor for Darlington Township. Later he was the clerk of East Whitby Township, then clerk of London Township, and finally, in 1959, city manager, for the city of Belleville, Ont. The newspaper announcement about his appointment read as follows:

BELLEVILLE--J. R. Reynolds, 52, clerk-administrator for London Township, has been named the new city manager for Belleville. He will commence his new duties on April 15.
The new city manager will fill the administrative position left vacant last year when the former city manager Drury Denes was dismissed by council after it was learned city money had been used to help finance Belleville McFarland's hockey team.
A native of the Bowmanville area, Mr. Reynolds has banking experience and later was assessor in Darlington Township and clerk in East Whitby before going to London Township as clerk in 1952.
His new position at Belleville will have a starting salary of $9,504 with a maximum of $10,656 to be reached in four years. Under the terms of his contract either party may terminate the agreement on three months notice.

Jim died 1 February 1976 at the Community Hospital, Clearwater, Florida. He had been a member of the Bridge Street United Church, Belleville, where he served as an Elder, and a member of Moira Lodge No. 11, A.F. and A.M. He was burried in Belleville Cemetery.
