This Week, 13 December 1994:
Fair winners receive awards - For 28 years, Art and Emily Hubbell and helpers have been serving up thousands of dinners of ribs and chicken at the Harrow Fair, waiting on long lines of hungry fair-goers.
This winter, in front of four generations of family as well as several hundred others, Art and Emily were recognized for their hard work as they received the 1994 Service Award from the Colchester South and Harrow Agricultural Society.
The Service Award is presented each year to someone who has make a major contribution to the Agricultural Society and Fair.
Not only do Art and Emily and their descendents continue to be involved in the Fair, but the service stretches back much farther than that - on Emily's side, the Levergood family has been involved with the Harrow Fair for what is now stretched out to seven generations!
