Brothers Serve in the Army - Cpl. Harold Higgins, Pte. Gerald Higgins
Two sons of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Higgins of this city are serving with the Canadian Forces. Cpl. H. Higgins with the Ist Kent Regiment (active) now stationed at New Westminister, B.C. Pte. Gerald Higgins for the past 8 months has been in England with the R.C.O.C. attached to No. 28 Light Aid? Detachment of the 1st Canadian Survey Regt. (R.C.A.) Somewhere in England. Cpl. Higgins prior to enlisting was an employee of International Harvester Co. for five years and Pte. Higgins was an employee of Voming's? Bakery for three years.

The Worthing Herald of England, contains the following account of the wedding of Miss Sybil Heather Wright of Worthington, to Pte. Gerald (Jerry) Higgins, R.C.O.C. The picture of the bride and groom appeared in The Daily News this week:
Miss Sybil Heather Wright, a member of the "Worthing Herald" Commercial Staff, was among the Easter brides.
She was married at St. John's the Divine, Worthing, on Saturday to a member of the Canadian Forces - Pte. Gerald (Jerry) Higgins, R.C.O.C., son of Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Higgins, of Chatham, Ontario.
The bride is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Wright of 59 Ripley Road, Worthing.

Best man was the groom's brother, Pte. Harold Higgins, of the Essex Scottish Regiment.

Obituaries - Gerald Higgins. Gerald Higgins, 59 years of age, a resident of ?? St. George Street, died suddenly at Pine Tree Harbour on Friday.
He was born in Detroit, son of the late Chester Higgins and Nellie Carey. He was a resident of Chatham most of his life and was employed as a mechanic with Sandy Elliot Motors for the past 25 years. During the Second World War, he served overseas with the Canadian Army.
He was a past president of Kent Cloverleaf Conservation Club.
Surviving are his wife the former Heather Wright; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Gerrilynne) Jones of Mississauga; two sons Charles and Jim, both of Chatham; five grandsons, and two brothers Harold of Wallaceburg and Charles of Anaheim, California.
The funeral service will be conducted in "The Chapel" of the Stephen-Alexander Funeral Home, Wellington St. W. on Monday, at ?:30 p.m. with Rev. I. K. Chubb of the Chatham Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home after 7 p.m Saturday.
