Obituary - Amon Willis. After being confined in a London hospital for some months, Amon Willis, an esteemed and respected resident of Thamesville, passed away at that institution on Sunday from on attack of pneumonia.
The deceased, who was in his 73rd year had lived most of his life here. He was born at Windsor, son of the late Jesse Willis and Caroline Hubbell. His parents moved here when he was a child and he lived his life in this community, where he acquired many friends. For the past several years he lived retired, following the operation of a service station on No. 2 highway.
Surviving are his widow, who was Emily Street; three daughters, Mrs. Ross Ellsworth, Mrs. William Herzseld and Mrs. Andrew New of Detroit; one son, Clare, of Windsor; one sister, Mrs. George Twigg; and two brothers, George and Jesse, of Detroit. Mrs. W. A. O'Neal, who died a few months ago, was a sister.
The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from his residence on Lemuel street, service being conducted by Rev. R. C. Copeland of the United Church. Interment was made in the Mayhew Cemetery.
