Hold Last Rites For J. R. Secord
Thamesville - Rev. R. F. Bates of the United Church conducted the funeral sevices at Brown's Funeral Home for the late James Roy Secord of Howard Township.
The deceased was the son of the late Henry and Rose Secord and was born in Howard Township. Attending High School here, he later worked in the village until he enlisted in the Engineer Corps and served in World War I. Returning from overseas he entered in business with his brother, the late Lloyd J. Secord at Atlanta Ga. living there for several years. He has been engaged in farming in Howard Township where he manages the farm for his aunt Mrs. Edith Barker, at whose home he has lived for the last fourteen years.
Surviving are three aunts, Mrs. Edith Barker, Thamesville; Mrs. G. W. Martin Windsor; Mrs. M. Burchell, Detroit and one nephew, James Secord of Thamesville.
Interment was in Mt. Plesant Cemetery Thameville.
