Obituary - Ammon Hubbell. The death took place in Howard Township, on Saturday, Dec. 12th, of Ammon Hubbell, aged 71 years. A few months ago deceased suffered a paralytic stroke, and although he rallied he has never regained his health since, and his demise was not unexpected.
The late Mr. Hubbell was born on Dec. 18th, 1843, on the farm on the River Road Howard, about a mile west of the town, where also his father, Wheeler Hubbell was born. He grew up on the old homestead and resided on it until about 11 years ago. In 1869 he married Miss Emma Brown of Ridgetown, and to this union was born one son, James, and two daughters, Mrs. Gordon Stanton of Mull, and Miss Cora of Three Rivers, Mich. His first wife died in February, 1900, and he was later married to Mrs. Minshall, who survives him. When a young man Mr. Hubbell for some years drove the stage from Morpeth to Thamesville. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and the A.O.U.W., and also had the distinction of being the oldest member, in point of membership, of the Thamesville Methodist church.
The funeral took place from his late residence, Lot 16, R.R. Howard, to Greenwood cemetery, at Ridgetown, and was conducted by Rev. T. T. George. The pall-bearers were Messrs. Fred and G. R. Fysh, John and Chas. Minshall, Geo. Barker and Fred Martin.
