James E. Kelly Dies in 62nd Year
James Edward Kelly passed away in the Public General Hospital on Saturday following a three-month illness.
Born in Chatham 62 years ago, son of the late David Kelly and Polly Louise McDonald, he was a barber in the city for 29 years, retiring seven years ago.
In his younger days he was a well known lacrosse player.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ivy Adamson McDade; two daughters, Mrs Reginald Watterworth (Ruth), Miss Mary Lou Kelly, both of Chatham; one step-daughter, Mrs Horace Rowden (Margaret), Chatham, two sons Robert James and John David Kelly, Chatham, one step-son, George A. McDade, Chatham; three sisters Mrs William Stewart, Tilbury, Mrs Gordon Murray and Mrs Harry Kennedy, Windsor; two brothers, Walter D. Kelly, Windsor and Orval Kelly, Thamesville, and seven grandchildren.
The late Mr. Kelly is resting at the Campbell Funeral Home where the funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday at 3 p.m. by Canon R. D. Mess, Christ Church.
Interment will be made in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
