John McDonald, M, born 15 December 1878, in Township of Howard, County of Kent; father: Miles McDonald, Morpeth, Ont, farmer; mother: Mary Robertson; Physician: Dr. Shaver; informant: James Robertson, Ridgetown, Ont. Declaration: I, James Robertson, of the Town of Ridgetown in the County of Kent, Retired Farmer, do solemnly declare that:
1. I am the uncle of the person whose birth is desired to be registered.
2. I have personal knowledge of the matters herein set forth and the same are true in substance and in fact.
3. I am the uncle and although not present in the house at the time of the birth I saw the child within three days after the birth and was informed at that time that he was born at the place and on the date aforementioned. From my own observation I know that the person mentioned as the mother was the mother of the child and, further the persons named in this declaration as the parents at that time acknowledged then and subsequently parentage with respect to the child...

Drove Stage Route From Thamesville A Half Century Ago. Mr. Miles McDonald, an old and highly respected resident of the Morpeth district, died suddenly Thursday morning last. .. Besides his widow, he leaves a family of three sons, John at home and Arthur and Fred, who just a week ago returned to their homes in California, after visiting here, and two daughters, Mrs. Catharne Leibner at home and Miss Jennie, nurse in Detroit. Mrs. David Kelly of Thamesville is a sister.
