Thamesville Herald, 10 July 1924
Mrs. Mary McDonald - The death took place on Saturday at her home, Talbot street, Morpeth, of Mrs. Mary McDonald, widow of the late Miles McDonald, one of the oldest residents of this district. The deceased was 74 years of age, was born at Botany, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Robertson. About 40 years ago she came to Morpeth with her husband where she has since resided. For sometime she had been in poor health and her death was not unexpected. The late Mrs. McDonald was held in high esteem by the whole community for her kindly and unassuming manner. In religion she was a Presbyterian and a fervent worker in the Morpeth branch of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian church, in whose activities she will be greatly missed. She is survived by a family of three sons and two daughters, Arthur and Fred McDonald in California, John McDonald, on the farm; Mrs. Catherine Leibner, at home; and Miss Jennie McDonald, a nurse in a Detroit hospital. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon and was largely attended. Service at the house was conducted by Rev. George Weir, assisted by Rev. H. F. Kennedy, of Morpeth, after which interment was made in the Morpeth cemetery - Ridgetown Dominion.
