"This most highly respected resident of Howard Township was born in that township, on the river Thames, August 6, 1816, a son of Randall and Polly (Hubbell) McDonald, who were among the very first settlers in the County of Kent... "Randall McDonald, the only son, served in the war prior to his marriage to Polly Hubbell which took place in 1815. They settled on the river Thames... Nine of their ten children grew to maturity, and as noted Alexander was the eldest, the others being... Lawson McDonald, born in 1831, resides in Gonzales County, State of Texas; he and his wife Polly, of Michigan, have children - Lydia (deceased), Mila, Warner, Randall, and Sarah, all of whom are married with families...

33. Lawson MCDONALD, GGGG Uncle. Born on 7 Sep 1831 in Kent, Ontario, Canada. Lawson died in Harwood, Gonzales Co., TX on 12 Jun 1919; he was 87. ca 1852 when Lawson was 20, he married Polly HALL. Born in Oct 1831 in NY. Polly died in Harwood, Gonzales Co., TX in Mar 1916; she was 84. They went to Barry County, Michigan, living there from 1857-1865, then moved to Gonzales County, Texas, where they still lived in 1904.
They had the following children:
i. Lydia (ca1853-1898)
ii. Lomila (1856-1932)
iii. James Warren (1860-1930)
iv. Randall Alexander (1865-1938)
v. Sarah (1874-1940)
