Thamesville Herald, Thursday 12 December 1913
Wedding Bells - A delightful social event took place at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Canton, London Road, Wyoming, at 11 o'clock on Tuesday, December 2nd, when their daughter Zoetta, was united in marriage to Mr. J. Orval Hubbell, a popular young merchant of Thamesville. The bride, who looked charming in a dress of white Duchess satin, trimmed with lace, and carrying a bouquet of roses, entered the drawing room on her father's arm, to the strains of Mendelssohn's Wedding March played by her cousin. She was preceded by her little sister, who acted as flower girl. The ceremony was performed in front of a bank of palms and ferns by the Rev. J. W. Johnson, of Camlachie. The couple were unsupported.
After the ceremony a recherche dejeuner was served in the dining-room at which the health of the happy couple was duly toasted. The presents were very humerous and included handsome cheques from Mrs. E. S. Hubbell, mother of the groom, and Dr. E. D. Hubbell of New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Hubbell left on the afternoon train for New York, where they are spending an enjoyable honeymoon. On their return they will take up their residence in the house recently purchased by Mr. Hubbell on Lemuel street.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Hubbell are very popular in Thamesville and will receive friends...
