Brothers Serve in the Army - Cpl. Harold Higgins, Pte. Gerald Higgins
Two sons of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Higgins of this city are serving with the Canadian Forces. Cpl. H. Higgins with the Ist Kent Regiment (active) now stationed at New Westminister, B.C. Pte. Gerald Higgins for the past 8 months has been in England with the R.C.O.C. attached to No. 28 Light Aid? Detachment of the 1st Canadian Survey Regt. (R.C.A.) Somewhere in England. Cpl. Higgins prior to enlisting was an employee of International Harvester Co. for five years and Pte. Higgins was an employee of Voming's? Bakery for three years.

Chester Charles Higgins. In failing health for the past twelve years, Chester Charles Higgins died at his residence 109 St. George St. on Monday. He was born at Thamesville 80 years ago son of Benjamin Higgins and Sarah Hubbell.
He had been employed at the Ford Motor Co. in Detroit for 18 years prior to coming to Chatham in 1932 where he had been employed in carpentry work until his retirement in 1941 due to ill health. He was an adherent of the Chatham Baptist Church.
Surviving him are his wife, the former Nellie Gertrude Carey, three sons Harold, Gerald and Charles all of Chatham, and two sisters Mrs. Joseph Oldershaw and Mrs. John P. Waters, both of Chatham. There are also three grandchildren surviving.
Mr. Higgins is resting at the John G. Stephen Funeral Home, Wellington Street W., where the funeral service will be conducted Thursday at two p.m. by Rev. Arthur Foster of the Chatham Baptist Church. Interment in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
