Death Claims Respected Man - William L. Higgins Had Been Seriously Ill Since April -
Following an illness of several months duration, William L. Higgins, a greatly respected resident of this city, passed away this morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. Joseph Oldershaw at 15 Eighth Street. He was in his fifty ninth year.
On the first of April this year Mr. Higgins suffered a severe stroke from which he never recovered. Death came peacefully this morning. He was born in Thamesville, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Higgins. For many years he was employed at the International Harvester Plant in the city as stockkeeper, and subsequently as timekeeper. He was never married.
During his residence of many years in this city he was a faithful adherent to St. Andrew's United Church. He was a member of the Chatham Curling Club.
He leaves to mourn their loss four brothers, George of Chatham, Walter of Elkhart, Indiana, Chester and Joseph of Detroit also two sisters Mrs. J. P. Waters of Burks Salls and Mrs. Joseph Oldershaw of this city.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been made but will be announced later.

Funerals - W. L. Higgins. Funeral Services were conducted Saturday afternoon at two o'clock from the Campbell funeral home to the Maple Leaf Cemetery for the late William L. Higgins, who passed away at the home of his sister Mrs. Joseph Oldershaw, Eighth Street, city.
Rev. G. W. Henderson officiated at the services which were attended by a large number of friends and relatives. Fellow workers of the International Harvestor plant attended the services and paid their respects to him. He had been a well known resident of this city practically all his life. The floral tributes were beautiful.
Six nephews were pallbearers: William, Stanley and Reginald Brisley, Harry and Albert Higgins and Morris Oldershaw.
