Information from Debra Eddy; Dorothy Raymoure and Thomas Godfrey (from the Hubbell Center, file T); and the A&R Hubbell Book.

The information concerning the children of Nathan is quite confusing. Dorothy Raymoure and the A&R Hubbell book have Frank born in 1871, but the 1880 census shows a son Frank A., 9 months, so born in 1879. The A&R Hubbell Book has Frances A., the daughter, born in 1879, but Dorothy Raymoure has her born in 1881. She does not appear in the 1880 census. I have decided to go with Frank A. born in 1879, and Frances A. born in 1881.
The other daughter listed in the 1880 census, Anna Long, is given as Anna Leary (adopted) in the A&R Hubbell Book. She is not mentioned in either Nathan's or his wife's obituary.

Ionia Daily Sentinel, 3 April 1918, from Hubbell Center:
The Death Angel visited another Saranac home on Saturday, again taking the wife and mother, when Mrs. Jane Hubbell, aged 72, was called up higher. She had a slight shock of paralysis a couple of weeks ago, and contracted pneumonia a few days ago, which caused her death. Surviving are the husband, Nathan Hubbell, one daughter, Mrs. Myron Griswold of Ypsilanti and two brothers, E. N. Lowrey and John Lowrey of Lake Odessa. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., Dr. Emery officiating, burial in Saranac Cemetery.

from Debra Eddy:
Nathan Hubbell was married to Hannah Jane Lowrey, daughter of Ebenezer Lowrey and Jane McMullen, two of my ancestors. He was a son of Prindle Hubbell and Elizabeth Godfrey. Nathan's obituary is below:
DEATH REAPS HARVEST IN OUR COMMUNITY
Nathan T. Hubbell
N. T. Hubbell died Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. E. Griswold in Ypsilanti. He had been in poor health for some time, but had been up and around and Mr. and Mrs. Griswold had been planning on coming back to Saranac with him this week. Tuesday morning he fell and as Mr. Griswold picked him up he died in his arms.
He was one of the old residents of this section and was highly respected and had a large circle of friends.
The remains were brought here Tuesday night and the funeral will be held from the M. E. church Thursday morning at eleven o'clock.
____________________________________________________
Nathan T. Hubbell was born in the township of Keene, Ionia county, Michigan, February 14, 1843. He was the son of Prindle and Elizabeth Hubbell.
His entire life being spent in this vicinity caused him to be well known and consequently secured to him a host of true and loyal friends.
Nathan T. Hubbell and Hannah J. Lowrey were united in marriage January 1, 1871; Mrs. Hubbell departed this life March 30, 1918. To this union two children were born, one being taken by death in early infancy. The daughter, Frances A., with her husband, Myron E. Griswold; Mrs. Julia Comstock, a sister of Mr. Hubbell's; a half sister and brother with many other dear ones are left to mourn the loss of the loved one who has been taken from us.
While on a visit to the home of his daughter, at Ypsilanti, Mr. Hubbell was taken suddenly ill, from which he never rallied, and he passed away at four o'clock Tuesday morning, February 4, 1919.
He was a good soldier in the War of the Rebellion, having served nearly two years in Co. H, 27th Michigan Infantry. For rendering good and loyal service to his country he was promoted to Corporal and then to Sergeant. After he was discharged he returned and established his pleasant home near Saranac where he spent the remaining years with loved ones.
Members of the G.A.R. will miss him. He was a charter member of Hiel P. Clark Post No. 153 where he was respected by all, and where he has filled important positions successfully. He was also a member of Saranac Lodge No. 168 I.O.O.F. Yes, as Memorial Day draws near we will miss him in his accustomed place, where he has been so faithful in the past, but let us all move steadily onward trusting Him who doeth all things well.
The funeral services were conducted in the home and M. E. church, Rev. W. S. Ross of the Congregational church officiating, and burial in Saranac cemetery.
