... In 1772 Philip Fox came to America from his birthplace, Baden, Germany, where he had married Catherine Lamer. They settled in the same year at Baltimore, Maryland, remaining for several years, and then moved to Pennsylvania, during their residence in which State several children were born... in 1794 he was fortunate enough to draw Lot 10, on the lake shore in Gosfield, and removed thither. There both he and his wife passed the remainder of their lives, and their remains rest on the Wesley Wigle farm, in a private burying-ground. They had eight sons and two daughters born to them, as follows: ... Philip, who settled on Lot 2, 5th Concession, Mersea, and married Miss Snyder; ...
