Marriage Announcement from the Harrow paper:
Stroud-Tofflemire, January 19, 1943: Floyd and Margery (Tofflemire) were united in marriage at the Baptist Parsonage in Harrow by Rev. T.J.Hare. Parents of the bride were Ruby and Alanson Tofflemire and of the groom, Edward and Belle Stroug.

Article in Harrow paper, 8 March 1994:
Margery Stroud, who died last week after a terrible battle with cancer, was a woman of wit, grit and determination. She was also my first cousin. At her funeral, her family chose to focus on her sense of humour, her lifelong penchant for practical jokes and her sense of fun, as well as her love for her family. Many families, far too many, know the pain of watching a loved on fight a losing battle with this horrible disease, and the courage, determination and will of its victims is incredible. Margery's practical jokes have become a part of family lore, and her son Doug told how her sense of humour was intact right up to the end. A conversation with Margery, no matter how she was feeling, was always fun. We will miss you, Margery!

  Doug Stroud also passed out photocopies of this bit of family history. It is the poster put out when his grandfather, Margery's father Alanson Tofflemire, the husband of my Aunt Ruby, sold his farm on the Potlake (Gore Road) and auctioned off the equipment almost exactly 50 years ago. Though both Ruby (Brush) and Lance Tofflemire are long dead, this piece of family history will serve as a reminder of them. The original of this poster hangs in Roger Harris' barber shop on Queen St.
