CECIL RAY HODGINS AUGUST 7, 1924 - NOVEMBER 1, 2004 After a month-long stay in hospital, Dad was able to come home. Sitting in his favorite recliner chair, surrounded by the things he knew and loved, he was able to pass on quietly and peacefully. He leaves behind, his daughters Barb (Hodgins), Mary; and son-in-law Rick Bujak. He will also be forever missed by his sister Pearl Webster; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Dad was predeceased by his son Ken (1991) and wife Alice (1994). At Dad's request and final wishes, cremation has already taken place and there will be no service. He wants you to remember him with his happy smiling face. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba, 1160 - 675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Obituary, published on April 07, 2009 in the Winnipeg Free Press:
PEARL RUBY WEBSTER Peacefully; it is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Pearl Webster, on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at the Tuxedo Villa Extendicare at the age of 89 years. Remaining to cherish Pearl's memory are numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her spouse Robert Webster, brother and sisters Harvey, Cecil, Russel, and Eva and their spouses and her parents Frederick and Clara Hodgins. Pearl was born and raised in the Pratt Manitoba District, and later resided in Winnipeg. She married Bob Webster and lived and worked in Alberta and BC running their motel and hardware store, returning to Winnipeg in 1975 after the death of her husband. While living in Winnipeg she spent the next several years as a loving care giver. Pearl was a very independent individual; living on her own until November 2008. Pearl also enjoyed dancing, music and camping. In compliance with Pearl's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A private family interment will take place in Sidney Cemetery at a later date. We wish to thank our dear friend Albert, neighbours, and staff at the Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home. Donations may be made to the Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre Inc, P.O. Box 48059, RPO Lakewood Winnipeg, MB R2J 4A3 or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. I thought of you with love today But that is nothing new, I thought of you yesterday and days before that too. I think of you in silence I often speak your name, All I have are memories and a picture in a frame. Your memory is my keepsake with which I'll never part, God has you in His keeping I have you in my heart.
