Nicknamed "Blackbird John". Emigrated to Canada in 1828. The Canadian Archives has a note stating that on Nov. 3, 1834, John Deacon Hodgins of London Twp, Ont, petitioned for 100 acres of land. He lived in London Twp for the rest of his life. His will in the Surrogate Court Archives lists the nine children named here (excluding George).
