Obituary, published in The Seattle Times from Oct. 5 to Oct. 6, 2002:
Winifred Ruth MARKHAM Born February 5, 1924 in Sandpoint, ID. to Ralph Huron Brown and Winifred Mabel Ryan Brown. Passed away October 3, 2002 in Seattle, WA. Ruth was the former owner of M & M Finishers in SeaTac, WA. Preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Melvin Marion Markham in 1984. Ruth is the beloved mother of their four sons, C. Ralph Markham of Trussville, AL., Melvin C. Markham of SeaTac, WA., William C. "Bill" Markham of Spanaway, WA. and Lawrence C. "Buster" Markham of SeaTac, WA.; six grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great grandson. At Ruth's request, there will be no services. Cremation by Bleitz Funeral Home, Seattle. Ruth will be interred next to her husband at Seneacquoteen Cemetery outside of Sandpoint, ID. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, 1100 Fairview Ave. N., Seattle, WA. 98109.
