HODGINS, Wesley F - Peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Monday, December 6, 2010, Wesley F. Hodgins age 71 of Sarnia, beloved husband and best friend of 51 years to Bernice. Cherished father of Stephen (Lisa) and Michael (Sue). Devoted papa to Lee, Tai, Karley (1996), Matt, Mitch, Kelly and Kristy. Dear brother of Betty (Bill) MacLachlan. Dear friend and brother-in-law to Anne Peters (Bill 2000). Respected uncle to Mark (Glady), Heather (2008) (Mike), Jay (Lori), Jim Peters, Robin, Bill (Karen) and Janet MacLachlan. Dear great uncle to Alissa, Chris, Tyler and Bailey. Predeceased by brothers Bert and Bob. Wes was a retired member of Sheet Metal Workers L.U. 539. His passions were to try and defy his odds at the horse track and support his grandchildren, be it their sporting activities, recitals, ice carnivals and school related events. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Arnold, Dr. Maddison, and respective staffs. Much gratitude is also extended for the compassionate and supportive care given by the VHA Service. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, (519) 542-5541. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Smith Funeral Home, Sarnia. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to St. Joseph's Hospice, Bluewater Health Palliative Care, or the Canadian Cancer Society (cheques only please).
