Emmigrated to Canada with his brothers in 1834 and bought Lot 38 Con. 3 Biddulph Twp, Middlesex Co. from the Canada Company. As a wedding present Jane's parents (Col. James and Mary) gave them another 30 acres off the west side of Lot 38 Con. 4.
