Another of Essex pioneers has passed away after a brief but severe illness, in the person of Thomas Upcott. He was 76 years of age and had lived in the County of Essex from his childhood, whence he came with his parents from Yorkshire, England, when the county was a wilderness... Eight children survive him: 4 sons, John, William, Robert in Mersea Twp. and Samuel of Minneapolis; and 4 daughters, Mrs. K. McKenzie of Wheatley, Mrs. Thomas Dresser of Mersea, Mrs. F. J. Byatt of Wheatley, and Miss Anna Upcott of Essex...
