Obituary, Leamington Post, 12 June 1919:
Peter Wilkinson Passes, Mason of Long Standing. Peter Wilkinson, one of our oldest and most respected citizens, after an illness of five years, two of which he was confined to the house, passed away early Friday morning in his 71st year, death being due to hardening of the arteries and cancer of the liver. He was born in Kingsville, the son of John and Margaret Wilkinson, and came to Leamington when he was eleven years of age, where he had resided continuously. On Feb. 3, 1870, he was united in marriage to Miss Ellen Robinson, who survives, also one son, Fred, of the town. J. D., another son, died two years ago. A sister, Mrs. Abraham Truax, of Pontiac, Mich., is a survivor, as is also a half brother, Mr. Albert Baker, purser on the steamer Pei?. Deceased was a Freemason of thirty years' standing, and also a member of King Cyres Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and the Knight Templar Preceptory. The funeral, which was under Masonic auspices, was held on Monday afternoon at 2:30, the religious service being conducted at the house and grave by Rev. A. Kinder, assisted by Rev. D. D. Burtch. Beautiful floral tributes from the three Masonic lodges, Toronto and Henderson, Ky., friends testified to the esteem in which deceased was held.
