Obituary, Leamington Post, 16 October 1919:
Thomas Wilkinson - Mr. Thos. Wilkinson, an esteemed citizen residing on Mill street east, passed away at his home Sunday morning in his 74th year. He had been in poor health for two years and about a month ago was taken to Harper Hospital, Detroit, where his ailment was diagnosed ulcer of the stomach for which the physicians could do nothing. He was brought home and was an intense sufferer up to the time of his death. He was born in Mersea township, a son of the late Alexander and Mrs. Wilkinson of the 5th concession. Up to two years ago he was a successful farmer on the 10th concession when he retired and with his wife came to reside in Leamington. Surviving are his widow and one son, Everett R. Wilkinson, of Detroit, also one daughter, Mrs. Isaac Tilden of the 10th concession of Mersea. John J., Albert and William K. Wilkinson of the 5th concession of Mersea, are brothers, and Mrs. Polly Lane, Wigle street, and Mrs. Victoria Featherstone, Erie and Russell streets, are sisters. Clement Tilden, Detroit, and Miss Greta Tilden, 10th concession, Mersea, are grandchildren. The funeral service was conducted at his late home Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, interment following in Lakeview cemetery.
