Mrs. Margaret (Thomson) Bray, a highly respected resident of Amherstburg, is descended from one of the early pioneer families of County Essex.
     The Thomson family originated in Scotland, but at an early day they all emigrated to the North of Ireland, where Mrs. Bray's grandfather was born and where he spent his life. His family was as follows: ... Charles L. was the father of Mrs. Bray; ...
     Charles Lennox Thomson was born in Ireland, Feb. 5, 1809, but came to Ontario with relatives when but a boy. On attaining his majority he taught school for many years, and also conducted a fine farm in Colchester South. He married Margaret Lockhart, a daughter of James Lockhart, who was of Scottish extraction, and their married life was spent in Colchester South, where he died Dec. 12, 1884; his widow passed away June 12, 1890..
