Dwaine writes:
Mary and Charles were born at or near Bursey in the County of York in England. They were married in England July 26, 1803, and immigrated to Canada in 1818. The family arrived in Montreal - travelled on to Kingston and then entered New York State to visit with some of Mary's relatives. From here they travelled on to their distination - Lot 231, North Talbot Road, Mersea Township, near Amhurstberg, Upper Canada. Twelve children were born from this union.
