Jack first went to the west as a very young man, on a Harvest Excursion with others from the Colchester area. It is not known what year he settled in Saskatchewan. Jack first got work at an elevator, later taking up a land-claim about five miles from Fairmount, Sask. He was one of the earliest settlers in that district. He retired from farming and spent his last years in Kindersley, Sask.
