Alexander Burns McQueen, a prosperous farmer of Gosfield South, County of Essex, represents the fourth generation of the family of that name who have resided in the Dominion. The great-grandfather McQueen was a native of Scotland, and as a young man he emigrated to Canada, and was one of the first settlers of Long Point, County of Norfolk, Ont.
     Among his children was Jacob McQueen, who was born at Long Point, and there married Dorothy Mitchell. Later he moved to Fingal, County of Elgin, and still later to the County of Essex, where he settled on the Stokes farm, now owned by J. D. McDonald, Lot 252, and there died, aged seventy-seven years. His wife died at Grand Rapids, Michigan. The children born to Jacob McQueen and wife were: ... Dorothy, who married John D. McDonald, of Gosfield South.
