"ROSE- In Harrow, Wednesday July 15, 1903, Mrs. Moses Rose, aged 71 years"

From The Amherstburg Echo, dated 24 July 1903:

"We are pained to have to report the death, at Harrow, Wednesday of last week, of Mrs. Moses Rose in the 72nd year of her age. Mrs. Rose had been ill for two years with general debility, and during that time she bore her sufferings with Christian fortitude. She was not bedfast until six weeks before the end. The funeral was held Friday, services being held in the Methodist church of which the deceased was a devoted member. Rev. G. H. Long, the pastor, was assisted by Rev. James Smither, of the Baptist church, a friend and neighbor of the deceased. Interment took place in Erie cemetery, the following old friends bearing the body to the grave:- A. L. Ferriss, Z. Brush, Eb. Wright, Angus Wright, Thos. McLean, and John Bertrand. Mrs. Rose was the eldest daughter of the late George Fulmer of Gosfield South. She was one of a family of 8 children, of whom five are living as follows: --John Fulmer, Essex; Elijah Fulmer, residence unknown; William, Colchester South; Mrs. John Lintner, Colchester South, and Mrs. Geo. Thornton, Essex. She was married to Mr. Rose, in Harrow, November 18th, 1852, by the late Rev. Henry Scratch and they lived in Harrow for several years, then moving to Michigan, where they resided for 15 years, and there their five children were born. Three are living, Hiram Rose, alderman, of Detroit; Casper Rose, Colchester South, and Mrs. Josiah Fulmer, of Gosfield South. After moving back from the States they resided continuously in Harrow. Mrs. Rose was a firm Christian woman, and a member of the Methodist church nearly all her life. To Mr. Rose who is left alone in his declining years, being now 82 years of age, the sympathy of the whole community will be extended."
