Mrs. C. Wigle Passed Away - Was an Old Pioneer of Essex County. It would correctly be considered a surpise when an announcement was made on Tuesday of the death of Mrs. Christopher Wigle, Talbot St. west. She had been ill for several years but no one was ever more tenderly cared for than she... Mary Elliott Wigle was born April 24, 1810, of Irish French extraction, her father being John Elliott, cousing of Dr. Elliot, and her mother, Elizabeth Belfour Vizneau. She was the relict of the late Chris. Wigle, who predeceased her 33 years ago, was born on the old homestead on the lake shore, Colchester, what was afterwards known as the old J. C. Iler farm. Her entire life with the exception of a few years was spent in this vicinity. She was the mother of 6 children all of whom survive her, except her eldest son Francis Elliott, who died 30 years ago. Children - Mrs. Jas. McGinnis, Farewell, Mich.; Mrs. John Emerson, who resides 7 miles out of town; Miss Delia, Mrs. S. B. Floster, and Mr. G. Miner Wigle, a resident of Toledo, Ohio. Twelve grandchildren and five great grand children. In early life she became a consistent christian and lived her religion. She was a Baptist and her loved Paster, Rev. D. D. Burtch, a former pastor of the church had charges of the services. The funeral was on Wednesday with interment at Lakeview...
