Obit Notice --- Amherstburg Echo - Suddenly of Malden, Oct 11 1945, Alex. 71 years old - prominent Malden Farmer, Thurs - driven to the field to help son Thomas with farm work, soon after he had left his car - walking across the field, he dropped dead. It was a shock to the whole district. Son of Alexander - born on the farm now occupied by Mrs. Ross Mickle, Kings Highway, No. 18. Moved to present farm as a young man - remained there till he passed. His wife passed nine years earlier. - sons Thomas at home; Dr Gordon of Toronto and Lieutenant Jean Mickle with R.C.A.M.C. in England. Brother Dr. Ledson of Milwaukee, Wisc; Mrs James Taylor of Blenheim; Mrs Norman Gibb and Mrs E. A. Patton of Malden two sisters and three brothers deceased - Mrs. James Stewart; Mrs Fred Patton; Ross; Fred and Herbert. Funeral arrangements not completed as the paper goes to press.

The Mickle Family - Re Union of One of Essex County's Historical and Influential Families:
The Mickle family reunion was held on Bois Blanc Island, on Wednesday last, June7th. The gathering was attended by family coming from all parts, some coming from the Pacific coast, and many from the states of the Union, but Essex, Kent and Lambton were particularly well represented...
... the chairman called upon Henry Mickle, who welcomed them all and gave a short address in which he referred to William Mickle as the original head of the Mickle clan, who had come from Aryshire, Scotland, before the American revolution. About 1793 he was engaged in the construction of the British Government navy at Fort Malden and later at York (now Toronto), where he died of typhoid fever. He said there were about 600 descendents...
