"Port Huron - John J. Stover, Sr., 73, of 919 Seventh Street, died Friday ... He was born April 24, 1901, in Port Huron and was a life-long resident. He married Mary Jane Cook May 25, 1927, in Port Huron. Mr. Stover is survived by his wife; three sons, John J. Stover, Jr., California, and Frank N. and Robert C. Stover, both of Port Huron, and five grandchildren..."

Mary Jane Stover
"Port Huron - Mary Jane Stover, 87, died Thursday, Aug. 17, 1995 in Mercy Hospital after a short illness. She was born Nov. 18, 1907 in Carsonville and has been a lifelong Port Huron area resident. She married John James Stover on May 24, 1927 in Port Huron. He died in 1974. Mrs. Stover was a secretary at the Y.M.C.A. and American Red Cross prior to her retirement. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, the Altar Guild, Goulden Guild, the American Red Cross and a life member of the Y.M.C.A. She is survived by one son, Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. (Claudia) Stover of Port Huron; one daughter-in-law, Gloria A. Stover of Port Huron; eight grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. V. Jay (Sherri) Stover, Mr. and Mrs. Frank (Tricia) Stover, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen (Jodi) MacLean, Mark, Shawn, James, and Audrey Stover, and Nathan Hurst; six great-grandchildren, Dylan and Kendra MacLean, John Stover, Kevin, Elizabeth, and Frank Stover; and one sister, Helen Benson of East Syracuse, N.Y. She was preceded in death by two sons, John James Jr. in 1978 and Frank N. Stover in 1979; and one sister, Mildred Cook Smith. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Pollock Randall Funeral Home. Dr. John P. Boucher and the Rev. Cannon D. Roy Lees of Grace Episcopal Church will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery."
