Captain John J. Stover
"Late J. J. Stover - Passenger Ship Captain 25 Years - Captain John J. Stover, 73, ..., died at his home, 1014 Ward Street, Sunday morning. Captain Stover was born in St. Clair. At the time of his birth his father, John Stover, was serving as sheriff of St. Clair county, St. Clair at that time being the county seat... He leaves his widow Rebecca Stover, and two sons, Frank B. Stover, Detroit and John J. Stover, this city."

"Death Takes Local Broker, Services Friday for Frank B. Stover. Frank B. Stover, 74, of 606 LaSalle Boulevard, broker's representative for Paine, Weber, Jackson and Curtis, Detroit, for 30 years, died Tuesday in Port Huron Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Grace Episcopal Church by Rev. D. Roy Lees, rector. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. The remains are in Albert A. Falk and Son Funeral Home. Mr. Stover was born Feb 19, 1890, in Port Huron. He married Lela May Wynne Jan., 15, 1913. A Life-long resident of Port Huron, he was a life member of Port Huron Lodge No. 58, F. & A.M.; Huron Chapter No. 27, RAM; Port Huron Commandery No. 7, Knights Templar; honorary life member of Port Huron Lodge No. 343, BPOE; a member of Charles A. Hammond Post No. 8, American Legion; and the Last Man's Club of World War I and The Spanish-American War. He also was a life member of Grace Episcopal Church. A veteran of World War I, he served with Company 333, Knights Templar Ambulance Company. He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Miss Sarah F. Stover, Port Huron; a brother, John J. Stover, Port Huron; 3 nephews, John J. Stover III, Salt Lake City and Frank N. Stover and Robert C. Stover, both of Port Huron."
