John Reeder ... was born Sept. 11, 1810, in Derbyshire, England, of which county his parents, Henry and Ann (Black) Reeder, were also natives... To Henry and Ann (Black) Reeder were born three children: Charlotte married Thomas Scane, and both are now deceased; Sarah married John Gosnell, and they were the parents of George A. Gosnell, who was reared by John Reeder; John is the subject proper of this article. The father, Henry Reeder, had also two sons by a previous marriage, Henry and George, both now deceased.
