The banner, some days ago, reported the death of William Henry Stover. ...
Wm. Stover was born in 1830, in Clearville, Township of Orford, County of Kent. When about seven years of age he came with his parents to the 8? concession of Raleigh, where he lived until 22 years of age. He then went to St. Joe, Berrien County, Mich., where was to employed by his uncle, John Bury. Shortly after he married one Miss Yerrington and bought a farm where he remained for about three years. Not being satisfied he sold out and moved to Illinois where he remained about six months, and not liking it there he went to Minnesota for a short time. In 1859 he moved to California. After arriving at Marriesville? the deceased was employed by Mr. Eaton and in six months time was engaged by him as foreman on his ranch of 1200 acres... Mr. Stover remained with Mr. Eaton four years and during that time saved a small fortune.. He then returned to Canada and purchased 225 acres in Chatham township, concession thirteen where he lived and farmed until his death.
... He leaves a widow and one son Arthur, who is married a resides on the homestead, and one daughter, Mrs. Wm. Wemp, of Wheatley, also two grandchildren, Ella and Roy Ritchie, of Charing Cross. His brothers are James, Richard and Jack, of Raleigh, Joe, of Sombra; and one sister, Mrs. Rhodes, of Raleigh...
