George Clarke caught typhoid fever while sailing on the great lakes. He was training to be an engineer. He died, aged 27 years. After his death Eva worked as a practical nurse. Erie's husband Fred died that same year of a ruptured appendix and the two sisters lived together in Oxley for [most of] the rest of their lives.

Mrs. Eva Hubbell Clarke, 94, died Sunday in Windsor after a long illness. Mrs. Clarke was the daughter of George and Hannah Mickle Hubbell, and was born in Colchester South Township. She had been at Riverview for 3-1/2 years, coming from Ridgetown. Her husband, George, predeceased her. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Hazel) Butler of Ridgetown; three grandchildren, George Butler of Watford, (Leila) Mrs. Kyle Gardner of Colchester South and (Murna) Mrs. Rene Parent of Windsor; four great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Rev. W.E. Aldworth and Rev. O.R. Findall officiating. The pallbearers were Charles Butler, Francis Agla, Kenneth Butler, Robert Howie, Richard Craig and Hartley Wright.
