Joseph Graham Family
Alexander Graham (1842-1903), the second of Joseph's 11 children, was born in Euphemia Township. He married Annie Moorhouse in 1869. It is not known where he got his medical degree, but he practised medicine in Bothwell and Newbury. He died in London and is buried in Shetland Cemetery. Two of his children lived to maturity [and married]. Clara Graham married William H. Smith, and Walter Graham married Chrystine Hume.
Alexander's brother, Joseph Graham (1849-1941), married Florence B. Miller around 1880. Joseph studied medicine but apparently never graduated. Their only child, Marion, married Leonard Irish. Joseph became a cattle buyer.
David Graham (1859-1933) was born in Florence and obtained his medical degree from the Detroit College of Medicine. David set up practice in Duluth, Minnesota in 1893 where he remained all his life. Matthew Graham (1840-1866) was killed by lightning. Charles (1845-1935), at age 46, married Josephine Brownlee, daughter of John and Eliza Brownlee.
William J. Graham was born in 1847. Robert Graham (1865-1941) attended Shetland Public School and earned his medical degree at the Detroit College of Medicine. After graduating in 1893, he joined his older brother David in Duluth where he married and had two daughters. Robert, a first and second degree Mason in the Florence Lodge, tranferred to the Euclid Lodge in Duluth, Minnesota.
Thomas (1851-1928) married Sarah White, and lived on the home farm. They had seven children: Charles, Joseph, Mable, Alexander, Cecil, Theresa and Lola. Charles (1887-1951) married Angie Pritchard and lived in Euphemia Township. Joseph (1883) died at birth. Mable (1885-1891) drowned in the Sydenham River. Alexander (1884-1940) lived in Duluth. Cecil (1891-1964) married Verna Williams and lived in Euphemia on the home farm. Theresa (1888-1955) married George Snelgrove. Lola (1896-1969) married Wilbert Bilton and lived in Euphemia.
Joseph and Fannie's other children were: James (1853); Mary Francis (1856-1941) who married Richard Dobbyn and moved to Melita, Manitoba and Hugh (1852) who died in infancy.
