Information from Leila Butler:
Erie's husband Fred Herdman died of a ruptured appendix the same year that George Clark, husband of Eva, died of typhoid fever. The two sisters never remarried and lived together in Oxley for [most of] the rest of their lives. Erie was a seamstress, Eva a practical nurse.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Ridgetown for Mrs. Erie Herdman, 90, a former Colchester South resident who died Friday at the Resthaven Private Hospital, Blenheim. Born in Colchester South she had been living with her sister, Mrs. Eva Clark, of Ridgetown. Widow of Fred Herdman, who died in 1895, she is survived by one sister, and one neice, Mrs. Roy Butler. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Hubbell. Rev. B.W. Young of the Erie St. United Church, Ridgetown, officated at the funeral service in Ridgetown. The cortege then proceeded for services at Harrow United Church where Rev. F.C. Bayes of Harrow, and the Rev. J. Walker of Winsdor, officiated. Burial took place at the Erie Cemetery, Colchester.
