William Moorhouse (1805-1889) was 18 years old when his parents came to Canada. Rev. Mark Brigham married William and Catherine Pearce (1809-1850), daughter of John and Frances Pearce of Dunwich Township, Elgin County, in 1830. William and Catherine settled in the woods on the present homestead where William built a log cabin, later replaced by a brick home... William and Catherine had nine children...
Joseph (1844) married Jane Huson of Lower Canada, settled for a time as a farmer in Tilbury, but moved to Hamilton in 1895...
