William Moorhouse Family
William Moorhouse (1805-1889) was 18 years old when his parents came to Canada. Rev. Mark Brigham married William and Catherine Pearce (1809-1850), daughter of John and Frances Pearce of Dunwich Township, Elgin County, in 1830. William and Catherine settled in the woods on the present homestead where William built a log cabin, later replaced by a brick home... William and Catherine had nine children.
John (1832-1881), born on the old homestead, married Mary Ann Langford (1831-1915) and settled on Lot 29, Con. 2. They raised nine children: William, George, Milton, Edith, Franklin, Elena, Oscar, Anson, Clayton and Lilly...

William Moorhouse was married Dec. 20, 1830, by Rev. Mark Brigham, to Catherine Pearce, born in Canada, daughter of John and Frances Pearce, who settled in Dunwich township, Elgin County, where Mrs. Moorhouse was raised, and there her parents reared a large family and spent the rest of their lives. William Moorhouse and wife settled right in the woods, on the present homestead, where he built a log house, which, in course of time was replaced by a substantial brick house, which is now a part of the home of Robert Moorhouse. Here his wife died in 1850, but he survived until 1889...
The nine children born to William and Catherine Moorhouse were: John, born on the old homestead, married Mary A. Langford, of Euphemia, and settled on Concession 2, where he died, leaving a widow and nine children, who still reside on their on homestead; ...
