At high noon on Sat. Oct. 1st, a pretty ceremony took place uniting two of Chatham's popular young people, Miss Belva Gertrude Scarlett, daughter of Mrs. Scarlett and the late Mr. L. H. Scarlett, of Florence, to Mr. Edward Ross McGee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnston McGee, of Chatham. The interesting ceremony, witnessed by the immediate families, was performed by Rev. J. P. McFarlane in the vestry of Park Street United Church. The bride's brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McEachran, were attendants...

Loren H. Scarlett (1863-1933) was born near Ridgetown and moved to Florence where he was a painter and decorator. Loren married Agnes Laird (1870-1952)... The couple had five children.
